From 4 March 2009, the Elbas intra-day market will cover Finland, Sweden, Eastern Denmark, Western Denmark, Norway, and Germany.
At 14.00 CET on 4 March 2009 the intra-day trading platform Elbas opens for trading of the hours of 5 March in Nord Pool Spot’s Norwegian bidding areas NO1 and NO2 controlled by Statnett. In the Elbas market area Western Denmark the opening of contracts will be moved from 17.00 CET to 14.00 CET on 4 March 2009.
Hourly contracts for the following day will then be opened at 14.00 CET in the Elbas market areas Finland, Sweden, Eastern Denmark, Western Denmark, and Norway. Contracts for the Elbas market area Germany open at 08.00 CET.
In the Elbas market areas Finland, Sweden, Eastern Denmark, Western Denmark, and Germany the hourly contracts will be available for trading until one hour before delivery, whereas in Norway the contracts will be available for trading until two hours before delivery.
The transmission capacity available for trading on the Elbas market is the remaining transmission capacity available after the Elspot day-ahead planned physical flow has been determined. Furthermore the Elbas capacities are subject to the transmission system conditions and ramping requirements, which are determined by the Nordic transmission system operators (TSOs). The Elbas capacities are reported to the Elbas system by Statnett, Energinet.dk, Fingrid, and Svenska Kraftnät.
