Nord Pool Spot have been informed that in the case of a curtailment situation in Estonia, the Estonian transmission system operator, Elering, will offer peak load production capacity of 50 MW in all hours for the day of curtailment at a fixed price of 203 Euro per MW. The peak load production capacity volume and price are approved by the Estonian Competition Authority and will only be effectuated in the case of a curtailment situation in the Estonian bidding area. Bids placed by Elering to the Nord Pool Spot system can be activated up to one hundred hours per year.
This procedure will be implemented as of today, 26 July 2011.
Principles of placing bids will be used until there will be bidding areas opened in Latvia and Lithuania.
