Nord Pool, Europe’s leading power market, is pleased to announce the introduction of important new features in its Day Ahead Trading System allowing the use of new bid products in the Nordic-Baltic day-ahead auction.
The new products, which will be available for the auction trading 16 March 2016, for delivery 17 March 2016, include:
• Exclusive Group
• Flexible Order
The new Flexible Order replaces our existing Flexible Hourly Order as the Flexible Order can cover more than one hour.
Exclusive Group – In the Day-ahead/Elspot market, an Exclusive Group is a cluster of sell and/or buy blocks out of which only one block can be activated. Acceptance criteria is the same as for blocks, but Euphemia chooses which block to accept aiming to optimise social welfare. It is not possible to link block orders within an Exclusive Group.
Flexible Order – In the Day-ahead/Elspot market, a Flexible Order is one where the user can define which energy volume they would be willing to sell or buy at a specified order price limit. In addition to the volume and the price limit, the duration and time interval within the delivery day must be specified. Euphemia activates in the duration aiming to optimise social welfare.
More information on the new order types being offered by Nord Pool can be found here: User Guide
