In Q4 2018 it is expected that the Nordic and Baltic Multi-NEMO Arrangements will take effect. In connection with this, Nord Pool will change the logic for the System Price calculation for the connections between Finland and Estonia (Estlink 1 and Estlink 2) and Sweden and Lithuania (NordBalt).
Starting from 9 January 2019, the flow calculated for these interconnectors in the area price calculation will be used as an input in the System Price calculation. As a result, a separate flow at System Price will no longer be calculated for the Estlink and NordBalt cables. This method of using the area price flow as an input into the System Price calculation already applies for interconnections between the Nordic region and Germany, the Netherlands and Poland.
