Nord Pool Spot has received the following message from Svenska Kraftnät:
For day-ahead spot-market trade (Elspot) available grid capacity for export or import in Southern Sweden is allocated (before Elspot) between the interconnectors – both those where trading is determined by the spot-market and those where trading is bilateral - pro rata in proportion to the thermal rated transmission capacity of each interconnector. From December 11th 2006 the same principle will also apply for allocating any available grid capacity for intraday trading after Elspot.
The thermal capacities for the interconnectors in question are:
- Konti-Skan 750 MW
- Själland 1960 MW
- Baltic Cable 690 MW
- SwePol Link 720 MW
Zero will apply in the calculation for interconnectors where intraday trading does not yet occur.
Similarly to present routines for intraday trading according to Elbas, the allocation will be performed daily at 14.00 h for the entire following trading day (00.00 to 24.00 h) and will be updated at 22.00 h. A new update for the remaining hours of the present trading day will then be performed at 10.00 h.
In connection with the introduction of bilateral intraday trading, Svenska Kraftnät intend to publish daily at 14.00 h - via the Nord Pool Spot web site - the planned utilization of Baltic Cable and, based on this, newly allocated capacity. The presentation of the data will start in a few weeks.
