BESS Market - Clean Horizon Storage Index
The Clean Horizon Storage Index ©* delivered by Nord Pool is designed to increase transparency and bring standardisation to the European Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry. The Index is available in daily and monthly formats and is provided for three Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) durations: 1-hour, 2-hour, and 4-hour.

The Storage Index is calculated using COSMOS, Clean Horizon’s sophisticated energy storage simulation tool and delivered per bidding zone.
Free of Charge Clean Horizon Storage Index (simplified monthly granularity) consists of Monthly aggregated revenue with no details on the revenue stack per bidding zone (one number for each month for each bidding zone). Access via Data Portal | Clean Horizon Storage Index.
Premium Clean Horizon Storage Index (daily granularity and breakdown details) consists of Daily aggregated revenue with details on each component of the value stack (Day-Ahead, Intraday, TSO markets: FCR, mFRR, aFRR, ...) - one index per bidding zone per day featuring daily revenue stack. Available through 1 Market Data API account.
The Storage Index covers the following geographies.
- Nordics and Baltics : Denmark (DK1+DK2), Sweden (SE1+SE2+SE3+SE4), Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia
- Central and Western Europe : Belgium, France, Germany, Poland
- Iberian : Portugal, Spain
- Italy (all bidding zones)
- Romania

Invoicing & Redistribution Policy
Nord Pool Data Services users pay a pre-determined access fee “Data Fee” charged annually to access to a given data feed. All fees are charged per calendar year and excluding VAT.
Each customer will be entitled to one (1) API account included with their Nord Pool API subscriptions, regardless of the number of subscriptions held. This account will provide access to all subscriptions purchased by the customer, thereby simplifying access management and reducing the need for multiple API credentials. Additional API accounts may be purchased separately if required.
A redistribution fee is applied in addition to the data fee, where applicable, in accordance with Euronext Group Data Product Agreement – Master Terms and the relevant Product Terms for each Nord Pool market data redistribution use case.
